| xXGeneral InformationXxPicture: - Spoiler:
Name: Keihatsu Miroku Alias: Perv Visual/Suggested Age: 18 Actual Age: 110 Gender: Male Looks: A light skinned male of medium height and build, Miroku comes off as a likable guy. He has dark hair and eyes which are sometimes described as being soulful. He seems to nearly always be smiling for one reason or another. He wears the traditional outfit for trainees at the Shino Academy, that being a white shirt and blue hakuma. He has a relaxed demeanor, but when he fights, he moves with precision and grace belying his usual somewhat goofy posture. When serious, his entire posture changes, becoming like a rock, silent and observant. Division:
xXPersonal InformationXx
Personality: Despite the tragic events in his life, Miroku is an outgoing, exuberant sort of person. He is comfortable around people, and is extremely personable. He is charming when he wants to be but he is a bit of a womanizer...or at least he tries to be. He repeatedly makes overt sexual advances to any woman he deems worthy of his attentions, and usually gets punched, slapped, or stabbed in response. All of his silliness however hides a person who has truly suffered. In battle, he sometimes uses his carefree demeanor to disguise the fact that he is actually highly intelligent, cunning even. Though he smiles all the time, those who know him well would notice he is sad and pensive often. He is a complicated person, but once his loyalty and friendship is won, it will endure forever, until he dies. Oddly enough, he is actually a very wise and kind person, due to his monk-like upbringing.
Likes: Women, his Uncle, his small family, friends, values integrity, and women. Dislikes: His fate, the notion that he is not in control of his own destiny. Code: Live every day as if you will die the next. Because you just might.
History:
Keihatsu Miroku has led a tragic life. He has an expiration date. Just like his father had one before him, and his father's father, and his father's father's father before him. The men in the Keihatsu line seem to have the tendency, an odd genetic quirk or disease, that causes their own reiatsu to eventually destroy them, burning them up from the inside out. The Keihatsu line is a line which is noted for being unusually powerful in the spiritual arts. Many members have reiatsu rivaling, sometimes even exceeding heirs of noble lineage. Over the years, they have discovered many techniques to stop the progression of the disease, but nothing so far has been successful. All they have been able to do is slow it down. One by one, they all died, killed by their own spiritual power raging out of control.
Miroku was born with this shroud of death hanging over him. He knew he was going to die young by the time he was ten years old. Determined not to let this "curse" define his life he decided to simply rise above it. So what if he was going to die young? Plenty of other people did as well...at least that is what he told himself. So, he tries not to think of it. His father tried to shield him from the pain of their shared fate, always remaining cheerful, always having a smile on his face. Miroku inherited his easygoing nature. He was rather close to his father, but as they were walking back to the temple in which they were residing, the worst happened. Even knowing it was going to happen, Miroku still could not believe it as his father threw him away from him. He was still young...but he saw his father destroyed right before his eyes. The emotional scars this left on his psyche still exist even now, fully grown.
Since his mother died in childbirth when he was younger, Miroku and his sisters were sent to live with their Uncle on the mother's side. He became like a father to Miroku and his siblings. He taught Miroku many things, chief among them was how to control his spiritual power, to keep it from consuming him as it had so many others in his family. It was a temporary fix, but it would keep Miroku alive for a long while. His uncle was a monk, and so Miroku lived a fairly sheltered life as he grew up. It was only once he was much older that he began venturing out into Rukongai where he became known for his rakish behavior towards women.
Due to the nature of his "curse", he must constantly practice controlling his spiritual energy, and thus, to better learn how to, he applied for, and was accepted into the Spiritual Arts Academy. Just as every other male in his line had done before him, he would train to become a Shinigami. It is not in Miroku's nature to be depressed, or to live his life in fear or regret. He endeavors to act as normally as possible, but he guards his tragic secret jealously. His future is uncertain, but his mind is set. He would simply live...as long as he was able to. In that respect, he is no different from any other recruit.
