| Amatsu nodded in acknowledgment of Captain Hakufu. He was standing ten meters from the other man in his full regalia as Sotaicho. A light breeze lifted the folds of his haori and the black cloak that covered it revealing the red sash of the Sansai clan draped about Amatsu's waist.
"It has been a long while since we last sparred, Hafuku-Taicho."
Said Amatsu matter-of-factly. He simply stood as he stared with golden eyes into Hafuku's, attempting to assess how strong the man had become. It had been so long since he had fought Hafuku Amatsu had little idea of what to expect from the man. However, he was ready to adapt to any situation that should arise. He would let Hafuku have the first move. | |

| ::Hakufu smiled. "Well no games so I expect to fight at full power. Hakufu pulled out his Zanpakuto. "Time for the crushing burn." Black flames engulf Hakufu and covered his arm. The black flames turned into chains and his sword split into two. Hakufu had dashed at Amatsu he did a barrage of slashes each stronger than the last.
Hakufu was sure not to waste all of his strength so early and he kept an eye out for Amatsu techniques.::

| As Hakufu pulled out his zanpakuto and immediately released it, Amatsu narrowed his eyes ever so slightly and moved his right hand to grasp the hilt of Sougyou no Tenjin. This turned out to be a wise action, because immediately after releasing it Hakufu had dashed towards Amatsu at an impressive level of speed. Noting Hakufu's speed level Amatsu unsheathed Sougyou no Tenjin just in time to block Hakufu's first strike. Amatsu met Hakufu's first strike, holding Sougyou no Tenjin in a firm grip held lengthwise across his body, surprised at the force. It seemd that Hakufu was not only relatively quick, but much stronger than Amatsu's normal opponents. Amatsu did not seem to have enough time to get in a counter attack among the barrage of attacks from Hakufu and was of course very wary of surprise projectile abilities, poised to react if that situation arose. Upon Hakufu's last strike Amatsu blocked it solidly bracing his hand against the dull edge of Sougyou no Tenjin to add extra strength to his block. However he was still sent backwards, his feet skidding across the ground. He maintained his solid stance the entire time however. Now his assessment of Hakufu's speed and power was complete, as was expected of Hakufu, one of the most experienced and powerful Captains in Seireitei, he was no weakling. Amatsu reset his stance. Where as his previous stance had been purely defensive, this was a stance clearly geared towards offence. His reiatsu pressed heavily on the area as he began to glow slightly with the light of his reiatsu, the characteristic dull roar of a powerful spiritual pressure filled the area for a moment before subsiding. With next to no warning, Amatsu dashed with great speed towards Hakufu, leading with a barrage of his own. Amatsu would slash at Hakufu three times, first a diagonal slash at his midsection, then a sweeping slash towards his feet, but Hakufu would likely find the second slash to be a bit strange. His last attack was a straightforward, stiff stabbing motion backed with Amatsu's not inconsiderable amount of physical strength and speed. Amatsu judged that Hakufu would be able to react to his strategy effectively, but if Hakufu did not already know what was coming, he would be hard-pressed to escape completely unscathed from Amatsu's third attack and might perhaps suffer a small wound. However, judging from Hakufu's impressive display earlier, Amatsu doubted that this attack would result in any kind of serious injury. SP: 195/200 FP: 48/50 - Spoiler:
Name: Double Take Type: Technique Description: This is a move using great arm movement speed on the level of Flash step, combining it with the principals of Zanzou to produce after images of their arms, and the weapons held in them. Right before the attack connects with an object, the technique is used to create an after image, while the user attacks from a different angle. To the opponent it would appear that the user attacks once, and then almost immediately attacks again with a different attack, or even the same attack. This should create an opening due to the fact that the opponent should have tried to react the “first” attack and should not be expecting a second attack so soon, as the attacks would connect with the target less than a second apart from each other due to the user's speed. If the opponent tries to block the first attack, their sword would simply go through it as if it were an illusion, and by that time, it would be too late to block the second strike.
Example: Amatsu dashes at an opponent, and slashes toward their face. As the opponent blocked the face slash, it would go right through their sword, and they would notice that Amatsu's sword was actually heading for their stomach. At this point, it is only possible to dodge if they are able to use Flash Step, and even then, unless the opponent is significantly faster than the user, they will usually suffer a wound.

| ::Hakufu smiled holding his swords firmly. Hakufu notice Amatsu speed and his attack. Hakufu block the first hit with his left arm taking a huge risk. Not sure if Amatsu was going to head on attack him in the first slash. Hakufu grin slightly as he took his right arm and blocked at the second strike. Hakufu had stumble back from the block and almost fell back but he to avoid falling down and giving Amatsu a free hit. Hakufu had flashed step back he then held his ground. "Hadou Number 4." Hakufu launched a bolt of white lightning at Amatsu. Knowning that Amatsu could dodge this. Hakufu had waved his left blade to the ground a wave of black flames shot to the ground and raced towards Amatsu. Hakufu grabbed both blades and moved to attack Amatsu.:: SP: 124/144 - Spoiler:

| After Hakufu successfully blocked Amatsu's first strike and subsequently bent down to block the second slash sweeping towards his feet he would realize Amatsu's ploy. It was one of Amatsu's more difficult sword techniques, and Hakufu would have been successful in blocking the second slash towards his feet if what he was attempting to block hadn't been less substantial than smoke. Hakufu had fallen for Double Take's initial feint, and had attempted to block the afterimage. As a consequence, Hakufu would likely be taken completely by surprise as Amatsu's true attack, the third and last in the sequence of blows he sent towards Hakufu, reached fruition. Because Hakufu was currently blocking an afterimage, Amatsu plunged forward in his final attack in the volley attempting to pierce Hakufu's shoulder, resulting in a moderately deep wound. Due to the awkward position Hakufu would necessarily be in to block the second attack which swept so low to the ground, coupled with the immediate nature of Amatsu's following attack would likely cause Hakufu to have an exceedingly difficult time in dodging Amatsu's follow up attack. As Hakufu used Flash Step, much of the damage from Amatsu's attack would be averted, but it would be unlikely that Hakufu could escape such a situation completely uninjured. As Hakufu retreated and held his ground Amatsu returned his stance to normal from it's thrusting position, flicking Sougyou no Tenjin once, freeing it of the small amount of blood it had gleaned from Hafuku. The blade glinted harshly in the light. Recognizing that no matter an individual's skill in bladed combat, Hafuku still had the advantage due to the release of his shikai, Amatsu brought Sougyou no Tenjin down and swept it in an arc as he said, "Illuminate the Heavens, burn the darkness away, and obliterate the unrighteous...Shine, Sougyou no Tenjin." As he spoke the blade erupted in golden flames which flowed behind the sword as it passed through the air. As Hakufu launched Byakurai Amatsu raised his hand directly in the path of the lethal kido, "Bakudo number 8: Seki" And a blue light appeared in his hand just as the Byakurai made contact. There would be a burst of reiatsu and and an explosion, but Amaku's stronger Bakudo would deflect the force of the explosion away from him, sparing him from any adverse effects from the hadou. Simultaneously, Amatsu swept Sougyou no Tenjin upwards, releasing a powerful burst of golden flame that would collide with the black flames causing an explosion at a coequal distance between the two combatants. Amatsu would keep close tabs on Hafuku's position while he was maneuvering to defend himself from the two attacks. The two threats dealt with, Amatsu immediately turned to meet Hafuku's attack with one of his own. He stepped forward quickly, and powerfully and using this momentum and his training in the style of his clan, brought Sougyou no Tenjin down from it's aerial position swiftly, wielded with one hand as Hafuku came into range. The ever present golden fire left behind bright arcs of flame and light as the sword sliced downwards. This was a battle between two very powerful, very experienced shinigami, and promised to be explosive... SP: 215/240 FP: 47/50 - Spoiler:
Name: Sekiyou (Setting Sun) Type: Technique Description: Setting Sun is a powerful crushing slash or stab to the ground. Using great strength, speed, momentum and the force of gravity the user can split a fissure in the earth. The crack widens and extends towards the opponent. The move shakes the ground and causes opponents with a weak stance to stumble and/or lose their balance. This can produce a small opening for the user to take advantage of, and the fissure is deep enough to fall into. If an opponent is in the way, the force of the technique will send them stumbling, even flying backwards from the knock back force if they did not have an extremely solid stance and a good block position.
